DIY iPhone Dock

January 19, 2012 By Matt Leave a Comment

I found a hollow book at a Home Goods and thought it would be
perfect to make a decorative iphone dock.
Using a drill bit and a small utility knife, I created an opening in the top of the box just big enough for the dock connector to poke through.
Next, I cut a small scrap of wood with a slight angle.  The angled side butts up against the dock connector and helps hold the phone in a position that allows you to see the screen easier.  Using hot glue, I attached the wood scrap to the inner liner of the box and the dock connector.
Lastly, I drilled a small channel in the side of the box for the connector cable to rest in.
Here’s the finished dock!
Here’s a pic of another one that I did for my wife.
This was a really easy project and a great way to hide your phone charger!
Have you had a different idea for a dock?  We’d love to see or hear about how your idea.  Feel free to share!
Thanks,
Matt and Jacque!
