How to Naturally Clean Hard Water Stains and Deposits from your Tub Faucet

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetSpring officially came in with a bang a few weeks ago.  By bang I mean taunting us with beautiful warm weather tempting my toes into flip flops only to be pulling the coats and warm socks back out of the drawers in a matter of days!  Thankfully the weather man says things are on an upswing and looking to be warm again before we know it!

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetSince we are stuck inside I decided I would tackle some of my spring cleaning projects including one I’ve had on my list for a few years.  I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t taken care of this issue sooner, but I haven’t until now!  When we moved into our home I noticed the faucet handle on the master bath shower was gunky.  It’s one of those things you know you need to do but just don’t want to deal with.  I dreaded the idea of soaking the faucet handle in some type of cleaner that was going to stink and then still having to scrub.  Thankfully all of my worries were easily subsided within seconds of firing up our HomeRight Steam Machine Plus.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetStart out by popping the decorative cover off of the handle.  Then use a screwdriver to remove the screw holding the handle in place.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetIt’s that easy and the handle will slide right off!

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetFire up your steamer and just let it go.  I let the steamer penetrate the stains and gunk for about 30-60 seconds.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetUsing a rag I wiped out the debris.  Some areas were hard to get to with the rag so a q-tip worked great for this.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetAfter the handle is dry re-attach it to the faucet.  While I was at it I used the steamer to remove hard water spots from the chrome faucet cover panel.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetI also went after the nasty gunk in the door track.  I really do clean my shower regularly I promise, but some areas are hard to get to.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetI used a grout attachment to help me get into the tiny corners of the track.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetWaited for the blue light and steamed and scrubbed until the gunk was running out of the track.  I used rag to wipe away everything that was loosing up.

How to naturally remove hard water stains and deposits from your tub faucetI can’t get over how much a difference just a minute or two of work made!  I would still like to take the whole frame apart and give everything a good cleaning but for now this is working great!  And I can promise I won’t be putting off cleaning these “pain in the butt” areas of my shower for this long again!

In honor of Spring and Spring Cleaning we are pairing up with HomeRight to give you a little boost in getting your cleaning project done by giving away a HomeRight SteamMachine Plus!  Wait for the rafflecopter to load below and enter to win!  Make sure and read the terms and conditions carefully and Good Luck!!!!

I would use the Steam Machine Plus for exactly this! I just spent last weekend trying to clean these exact items in my bathroom. No matter what I did I could not get that gunk out!

I would love to have one of these. I just moved in with my fiancé and i love him but his cleaning skills are not all that great. This would be great on the tile and the tub.

That is amazing! We live in Arizona and it is tough to get all the water spots and gunk off the shower and tub. I…..would love to use this all around our home.

I would likely use it for many things, but would love to try it out on the grout in my house. I have scrubbed it and gotten it pretty clean, but it’s hard work and not something I can do often. This would help so much!

I would use it in my bathroom . Then next my kitchen. There are other areas that need attention too. I guess everywhere in the house would be the correct answer! Thanks.

Tub first, but then wonder if it would clean the crud from my feet (you know, a steam right pedicure to get all the winter buildup of fugly skin off my feetsies!)

I would use it for my bathroom and my kitchen, the two areas of my home that get the most use and built up gunk. I would love to use this machine with the power of steam I could clean without all the harmful and smelly chemicals and feel good about cleaning, I think this machine would actually make cleaning fun 🙂 .

You have convinced me that I need this!! Especially around the area where the toilet meets the floor and the shower door frame. I clean them, but it takes forever (the shower door) and they never look completely clean!

I would use the steam cleaner for everything! bathroom, tub knobs, grout, around the toilet, kitchen, stove top, floors, curtains. I would love to clean these things and know they were as clean as they could get and sanitary.
